World-class writers from across literary genres will offer special individual classes available concurrently to all students at any of America’s 44 recovery high schools.

For the first semester pilot of THE BREAK, literary superstars Eve L. Ewing, Mary Karr, Carmen Maria Machado, and Clint Smith will offer classes ranging from comic-book writing to personal memoir to horror-fiction.

Presented by Kaveh Akbar and the Alano Club of Portland in partnership with P.E.A.S.E. Academy, the Recovery High School Initiative, the Association of Recovery Schools and Thunder Road Guitars.
