help us continue to offer connection & support for everyone
Yes! I want to help more vulnerable neighbors facing addiction find their way to lasting recovery with my life-saving gift that will be matched.
Over the years, you’ve heard us say time and again: Connection is the opposite of addiction. At the Alano Club, that’s more than a slogan—it is the guiding principle of our work. Every day, people walk through the doors of our historic home in NW Portland and find not only a meeting, but also a warm welcome, one-to-one connection, and the embrace of a diverse and vibrant community. No one heals alone here.
This year has created extraordinary need within our community. Oregon remains in the grips of a statewide addiction and overdose crisis—nationally, our state ranks second in substance use and misuse, and dead last in availability of treatment and services. More Oregonians than ever—friends, family, neighbors—need the connection, compassion, and hope the Alano Club provides.
You can help them find that hope right now.
Thanks to a generous fellow donor, your gift to Alano will be matched, dollar for dollar, up to $10,000, to DOUBLE your impact on our No One Heals Alone Campaign.
From now through December 31, your year-end gift will go twice as far to help those suffering to find the care, compassion, and resources they need.
Even as the need grows, public funding for frontline recovery support continues to shrink. Between July 2024 and June 2025, the Alano Club’s operational income was reduced by 15% due to cuts at the municipal, state, and federal levels. In the coming year, we will lose another 15% of our remaining funding. Still, as other organizations reduce staffing, shutter programs, and pivot their focus, the Alano Club has kept every program FREE, fully-staffed, and fully operational—because connection is crucial and must be available to anyone in or seeking recovery from substance use and mental health disorders.
In the face of these concurrent addiction and funding crises—and in the wake of the loss of our longtime Executive Director, Brent Canode, who was instrumental in shaping these innovative programs—we depend even more on our community to help us continue to transform lives. Your support is vital to Alano as we navigate high community need and disappearing funding streams. We are prepared to continue helping people and their families in or seeking recovery. Your donation will allow us to keep saying YES to those who need us most without interruption to our life-changing, life-saving programming.
Your gift today sustains FREE access to lasting recovery when our community needs it most by helping us keep our programs and office fully-staffed and operational. Your contribution will also help fund a much-needed interior repair and renovation project on our beautiful, historic home in Northwest Portland. This is your chance to DOUBLE your impact on our No One Heals Alone Campaign. Donate today!
The Alano Club of Portland is registered as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization (EIN 93-0370227).
With your support, in 2025:
More than 10,000 people found support each month through 6,500 mutual meetings, support groups, and community-based events.

Your gift right now will make a world of difference to the Alano Club, and the thousands of individuals who need the compassion, community, and care we provide. Our greatest moments arise from our most challenging times, so please give today!
